1. Information Collection

Weitude Technology Co., Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our") may collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you contact us via email or through our website. This may include your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide. We may also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and usage data.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, provide and improve our services, communicate with you about projects and updates, monitor and analyze usage trends, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience. Cookies are small data files stored on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of our website may not function properly without cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services such as analytics providers and hosting platforms that collect, monitor, and analyze usage data. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

7. Threads Research Tool

At weitude.com/research we operate Weitude Research, an internal tool our staff use to research public discussion on Threads through Meta's Threads API. When you sign in with Threads, Meta gives the tool an access token together with your Threads user ID and username, and permission to search public Threads posts by keyword and to look up public Threads profiles on your behalf.

We use this only to run the keyword searches you enter, to look up the public profile of an author you click, and to show you the results and your username. The tool does not post or reply, and reads nothing other than public search results, public profiles and your own username.

Your access token and user ID are kept only in an encrypted, HttpOnly cookie in your browser, which expires one hour after you sign in or when you sign out. We keep no copy on our servers of your token, profile, search terms, results or the profiles you look up, and we do not share or sell them. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for a limited period. Your searches are sent to Meta and handled under Meta's own privacy policy.

To remove your data, see Data Deletion.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
